E30 – Super Friends

Wonder Nerd Powers, activate! In the first of our “Grab Bag” episodes, we discuss the Hanna-Barbera classic, Super Friends, and learn the origin of Lex Luthor’s undying hatred for the Man of Steel.

Meanwhile, Peter references a character from a show Michael doesn’t believe exists, Michael chuckles at superheroes doing normal, everyday things, and both hosts find the Wonder Twins to be an endless source of amusement.

Also included: an explanation of the reasoning behind limiting Super Friends to a single podcast episode, Hanna-Barbera is the only company that rips itself off, and giant basketball.

Next week: The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest episodes 1-10

[NOTE: There is a bit of an audio glitch on Peter’s audio around 00:38:45 that we didn’t catch until editing. Our apologies.]

The World's Strongest

(REPOST) E01 – Dragon Ball Z: The World’s Strongest

[NOTE: This is a re-upload of a previously posted episode, with correctly calibrated audio.  ReBoot Part 4 will be up June 21, 15:00 PST as per the usual release schedule]

In our first episode, Michael and Peter discuss the Dragon Ball Z movie The World’s Strongest, and consistently drop the “The” from the title.

E24 – Jonny Quest Vs. The Cyber Insects

Jonny Quest brutally kills things.  But don’t worry, they’re just giant bugs.

In this episode, Michael and Peter reiterate, time and time again, that it’s important to be patient and to listen to your friends. Unfortunately, Jonny doesn’t absorb this very quickly whatsoever.  Meanwhile, Michael weirdly hopes for some preteen romantic tension between Jonny and Jessie, Peter claims to be an expert on Cyber Insects, both wonder if there will be any 90’s CGI, and we roll out some badly out-of-date Batman v. Superman hot takes.

Also included: reminiscing about Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins, theorizing on why lasers are considered less violent than conventional firearms.

Next week: ReBoot season 1

E18 – Tenchi Muyo!

What do you get when you put a demon, a princess, her younger sister, a space-cop, and a mad scientist under one roof?  Apparently, they all fall in love with a relatively lame teenager.

On this episode, both hosts discuss some awkward pre-teen memories, Michael makes a comparison to Bayonetta that falls flat, and Peter gushes about the mechanical design in the show.

Oh, there’s also a bit of discussion about a cat/rabbit hybrid that can turn into a spaceship, and the awkwardness of watching anime in your living room.
