E59 – Sailor Moon R Conclusion

“FOOLS! YOU’LL NEVER DEFEAT THE POWER OF THE DOOM PHANTOM!”

Time travel, internecine villain struggles, and heroes-turned-bad set “The Lost Episodes” apart from the rest of Sailor Moon R, but maybe not far enough apart. Meanwhile, Michael signs Wiseman’s praises, Peter appreciates another animal-focused episode, and both hosts share a laugh about New Year’s Evil.

Also included: The Ultimate Life Form, Serena’s driver’s ed, and badass future Rini.

Next week: Minisode 3, where we discuss an audience submitted topic.

Thundercats Grab Bag will release on Feb. 28.

E53 – Batman The Animated Series Part 3

Batman withholds information from Robin, in the name of protecting him. Surely, this won’t lead to trouble down the road…

Meanwhile, Michael talks about his thoughts on Justice League, Peter feels corporate villains getting away with everything is a little too real, and both hosts try to figure out what went wrong with “Cat Scratch Fever”.

Also included: Batman’s no-kill policy, our villain alter-egos, Bruce Wayne in high school

Next episode: Batman The Animated Series S2E12 – E24

E39 – Sailor Moon Part 3

All of the Sailor Scouts are finally assembled! Only took, what, 2/3 of the series?

Serena officially becomes the leader of the Sailor Scouts, and the choice is immediately suspect. Meanwhile, Michael has a startling vision of Serena’s possible future, Peter gushes about an episode starring Melvin, and both hosts theorize on how the series will end.

Also included: candid photos, which Sailor Scout we identify with, Sonic comparisons

Next week: Sailor Moon episodes 31-40

E33 – The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest Part 3

Why is Race’s voice different? Why does Dr. Quest sound so familiar all of a sudden? And what the hell was the deal with “Alligators and Okeechobee Vikings”?

Closing out season 1, we find both the best and worst episodes of the show so far, and then season 2 throws our assumptions about Jonny Quest into disarray. Meanwhile, Michael compares The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest to Backyardigans, and Peter appreciates Jonny showing some weakness (and Hadji showing some rage).

Also included: the strengths of ReBoot, Yeti monk, Race as even more of an outlandish action hero, and the return of a catchphrase

Next week: The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest episodes 33-42

ReBoot

E27 – ReBoot Part 3

Enzo becomes a badass, the Guardians turn evil, and Frisket is… pretty much the same as always. It’s ReBoot season 3!

Meanwhile, Michael compares grown up Enzo (matrix)’s character design to Lobo and defines the Yuli-Grayson scale of kid sidekick irritation, Peter rants about an episode featuring a graveyard of badly-designed superhero characters, and both theorize on why the post-timeskip episodes miss the mark.

Also included: talking once again about Burger King Kid’s Club, horrifying driver’s ed videos, and Jason Voorhees and the Argonauts.

Next episode: ReBoot season 3, episodes 9-16

E21 – Dragon Ball Z Part 3

Goku finally arrives to fight Nappa and Vegeta, and we’re treated to the first Dragon Ball Z fight that feels like it needs to last multiple episodes.

Peter and Michael theorize on why the final episodes of this block feature Namek Dragon Balls the size of Earth Dragon Balls, while Michael explains what hooked him about Dragon Ball Z in the first place, and Peter breaks down the “We’re Back 2: We’re Back We’re Back” reference for the first time (hopefully).  Also featured: a bad Moltar impression, random musing on past series we’ve watched, and a change to how we place our bets.

Next week: Dragon Ball Z episodes 31-40

E15 – Robotech Part 3

Michael and Peter finally start seeing the signs of the attempt to meld Robotech together out of three different series, and… it isn’t pretty.  Peter tries to explain the unique frustration with watching a bad adaptation of something you enjoyed, while Michael wonders what could have been, had neither known about Robotech’s unique origins.

Next week: Robotech episodes 37-48
