E54 – Batman The Animated Series Part 4



Batman fights a werewolf. No, it isn’t a direct-to-DVD bootleg, this actually happens.

While Penguin enjoys some opera, Michael talks up some weird visuals in a Riddler episode, Peter is tired of Man-Bat, and both hosts discuss the dark end of Clayface.

E53 – Batman The Animated Series Part 3



Batman withholds information from Robin, in the name of protecting him. Surely, this won’t lead to trouble down the road…

Meanwhile, Michael talks about his thoughts on Justice League, Peter feels corporate villains getting away with everything is a little too real, and both hosts try to figure out what went wrong with “Cat Scratch Fever”.

E51 – Batman The Animated Series Part 1



Crazy to think we could have a Batman show that doesn’t start with an origin story, isn’t it? How are we supposed to know how he became Batman?

Supervillains wreak havoc on Gotham City, and only one man can stop them. Meanwhile, Michael reveals some less-than-informed old opinions about Batman TAS, Peter questions Penguin’s effectiveness, and both hosts remember what it’s like to look forward to watching a show.

E49 – Dragon Ball Z Part 10



With Frieza defeated, it’s time for the next villain to be introduced: Garlic Junior. Remember him?

The Garlic Junior Saga takes a surprisingly Halloween-y turn, and it results in something a little different. Meanwhile, Michael is frustrated by the mechanics of the MacGuffin, Peter is irritated by Garlic Junior’s ultimate defeat, and both hosts breathe a sigh of relief that they can watch a different show now.

E48 – Dragon Ball Z Part 9



Frieza’s dead! Frieza’s dead! Everybody celebrate!

Dragon Ball Z puts forth its most interminable block yet, and Michael and Peter start to run out of ways to explain why it’s bad. Meanwhile, Michael makes a decision on a tattoo, and Peter tries out a King Kai impression.

E47 – Dragon Ball Z Part 8



The final battle between Goku and Frieza begins, and it would cool if it didn’t take so long.

As Goku punches Frieza and vice versa, Michael discusses the supposed death of Frieza, Peter talks about a Master Roshi figurine he once bought, and both hosts find they really prefer the Japanese episode titles.

E46 – Dragon Ball Z Part 7



Pop quiz: who’s the best character to wish back to life, of these options: Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, or Piccolo? If you said “anyone other than Piccolo is a joke!” you were correct.

On Namek, things are starting to heat up as Frieza finally fights our heroes. Meanwhile, Peter feels anxious about Namekian Eternal Dragon Porunga’s impatience, Michael again talks about his appreciation for Frieza, and both hosts compare the Frieza fight to the duration of entire other series.

Also included: reactions to extreme power levels, other shows we’d like to watch, Tequila Gundam

E45 – Dragon Ball Z Part 6



We return to Dragon Ball Z and find it much like we left it: tediously slow and occasionally hilarious.

Goku finally arrives on Namek, and starts burning through the Ginyu Force like we always knew he would. Meanwhile, Michael shares an anecdote about Philadelphia, Peter defines different types of filler, and both hosts struggle with the knowledge of how long the fight against Frieza is going to last.

Also included: alternate names for Namek, a proposed one-act play, and the dub transition

E43 – Tenchi Universe Conclusion



Tenchi and the gang head into space in order to stop a coup on Jurai that has deposed Ayeka and Sasami.

Unfortunately, putting Tenchi in space does very little to solve the show’s problems. Michael complains about the one-dimensional nature of the show’s characters, Peter sandbags the dialogue translation, and both hosts generally get kind of salty.

Also included: spaceships in love, character karaoke, and a swimsuit episode.

E42 – Tenchi Universe Part 1



Tenchi Universe starts out of the gate with repeated spaceship crashes, and from there… well…

We’re back to the adventures of a nondescript teenage boy pursued by six alien women. And it never stops being weird. Meanwhile, Peter compares Tenchi Unvierse to reality television, Michael vents his frustration with a glimpse of characterization, and both hosts wish one of the aliens pursuing Tenchi was a weird jellyfish monster.

Also included: Giant Scooby-Doo and his ability to clean up cotton candy, Animorphs, and the dark fate of Tenchi characters
