E135 – Dragon Ball Part 2

CONTENT NOTICE: Unfortunately, Dragon Ball has a LOT of humor based on sexual harassment and assault (we are NOT fans, for the record), so please proceed with caution.

Welcome to the World Martial Arts Tournament, where the best fighters in the world line up to get clobbered by Goku.

Goku meets his future best friend Krillin, and gets trained by the venerable, morally dubious Master Roshi. Meanwhile, Michael actually enjoys an episode, Peter talks about the funniest moment in the show, and both hosts continue to cringe at the show’s questionable subject matter for “jokes”.

Also included: multiple Simpsons references, the occasional hilarity of Dragon Ball, the best character Toriyama forgot

Turn-A Gundam part 1 will release February 24th

E134 – Dragon Ball Part 1

CONTENT NOTICE: Unfortunately, Dragon Ball has a LOT of humor based on sexual harassment and assault (we are NOT fans, for the record), so please proceed with caution.

An indestructible monkey boy and a vain teenage genius set out on a quest to find the seven magic Dragon Balls that can grant any wish.

For all the trouble they go through, these characters have some pretty basic wishes. Meanwhile, Michael is forced to reckon with his childhood in an uncomfortable way, Peter tries to find the silver lining, and both hosts struggle to explain the events of the show without sounding like total creeps.

Also included: “henchmens”, stanning for the Pilaf gang, Dragon Ball’s loose continuity

Dragon Ball Part 2 will release February 10th

E124 – Transformers: Armada Conclusion

Transformers Armada ends with a whimper, not a bang. Quite literally, Unicron doesn’t even explode!

The battle finally gets to Cybertron, and somehow becomes even more confusing than ever before. Meanwhile, Michael is simply tired of talking about this show, Peter is disappointed by the ending, and both hosts revel in the knowledge that they’ll never have to watch another episode of Transformers: Armada.

Also included: the magic act of the Minicons, forgetting to mention a last-minute retitling, the toll of Transformers: Armada

Yu Yu Hakusho Part 3 will release September 16

E123 – Transformers Armada Part 3

Surprisingly few outright errors this time around.

Twists and turns abound this season, and some of them even lead to character development! Meanwhile, Michael encounters one of his least favorite tropes, Peter is surprised to find that he actually kind of likes this season, and both hosts discuss things that came up in previous seasons and never again, despite seeming important.

Also included: somehow even MORE betrayals, a possible reference to the Battle of Endor, pining for Beast Wars

Transformers: Armada Part 4 will release August 26th

MS66 – Chargeman Ken

A small boy annihilates incompetent aliens who want to take over earth with kid sister and creepy robot in tow.

E122 – Transformers Armada Part 2

Reinforcements arrive for both sides, which means we have even more opportunities for accidental misnaming.

Transformers continue fighting over their smaller cousins despite the Minicons not wanting to fight anymore. Meanwhile, Michael is even more dumbfounded by the lack of characterization for the Minicons considering their relative importance, Peter appreciates a rare moment of normal writing, and both hosts are overwhelmed by the sheer number of new characters. But at least they aren’t just Minicons.

Also included: redundant McGuffin names, endless betrayals, and even more dialogue mistakes!

Transformers: Armada Part 3 will release August 12th

E121 – Transformers: Armada Part 1

The inevitable result of a show’s dub premiering before the show itself.

Autobots and Decepticons continue their eternal war, this time over smaller transformers that supposedly don’t want to be a part of it. Meanwhile, Michael is dumbfounded by the lack of characterization for the Minicons, Peter explains why there are no honorable mentions despite the episodic nature of the show, and both hosts contemplate the possibility that the sequel series is even worse.

Also included: nonsensical dialogue exchanges, the Squeaky-Voiced Teen gets his series debut, is Hotshot prejudiced against Minicons?

Transformers: Armada Part 2 will release July 29

E120 – The Big O Part 2

A season co-produced by Cartoon Network doesn’t pull any punches, be they giant-robot sized and literal or simply mindbending twists.

Roger Smith wakes up in an alternate Paradigm City, where none of the trappings of this show exist. It kind of makes sense, once things wrap up. Meanwhile, Michael is frustrated by a comedy focused episode, Peter points out Michael’s tendency to say he “actually” likes something as though that’s uncommon, and both hosts caution about monumental spoilers.

Also included: playing with toys, Michael’s confusion with barely-related things, further argument as to whether “Red” Dorothy is a robot

Transformers: Armada Part 1 will release July 15

E119 – The Big O Part 1

What happens when everyone in the world loses their memory? No matter, giant robots are here to distract you!

Roger Smith is Paradigm City’s top negotiator, and don’t question what exactly that means. Meanwhile, Michael takes issue with what he considers the show’s stated concept, Peter praises the visual design, and both hosts suffer Big O related amnesia.

Also included: a startling lack of Rita Repulsa, trying to describe Big O’s arms, “Megadeus” vs. “Megadeuce”

The Big O Part 2 will release June 24
