E104 – Zoids: Chaotic Century Part 1



What does one do with giant robotic animals? Use them to fight wars, of course!

A young man named Van finds a girl and a robot in a pair of pods, and sets off on a grand adventure, as a war looms on the horizon. Meanwhile, Michael is confused by the exact nature of the titular Zoids, Peter talks about the model kits, and both hosts are frustrated by a lack of direction.

Also included: speculation on what exactly “Zoid Eve” is, Zoids battle statistics, Anti-Van.

E101 – The New Batman Adventures Part 1



Batman’s back again, with a slightly new design and a bit more angst.

Batman occasionally joins forces with his former partner Nightwing as the ever-growing Bat-Family fights for the streets of Gotham. Meanwhile, Michael celebrates a stupid victory, Peter finds a Mr. Freeze episode he doesn’t like, and both hosts agree that Scarecrow’s new design is awesome.

Also included: Mullet appreciation, hairstyle pet peeves, anticipation for the real DCAU crossovers to begin

The New Batman Adventures Conclusion will release October 9th


E93 – G Gundam



We’ve been waiting so long for this moment…

Gundams fight! And they fight! And they continue fighting, until only one is left. Meanwhile, Michael is suitably satisfied with Master Asia (The Undefeated of the East), Peter appreciates some of the technological body horror aspects of the DG cells, and both hosts shake their heads at the weird stereotyping that runs throughout the show.

Also included: Robo John McClane, Master Asia’s awesome martial arts, Neo Mexico: Seriously Guys?

E88 – Sailor Moon S Part 1



Who ARE these mysterious new Sailor Scouts? Surely they can’t be the identical people we just met…

The Sailor Scouts are joined by new friends, opposed by new foes, and voiced by new actors. Meanwhile, Michael is bothered by wasted potential drama, Peter suggests the main cast of this show may suffer from Face Blindness, and both hosts once again wonder if Sailor Moon is actually enjoyable.

Also included: favorite Daimon designs, interminable cutscene special attacks, slang clangers.

E78 – Samurai Jack Part 1



The opposite of Back to the Future.

A young samurai is thrown into the far future by an evil spirit called Aku, only to find that Aku has taken over the world and remade it in his own image. Meanwhile, Michael talks about the pitch for the show, Peter discusses his childhood memories, and both hosts are blown away by the artistry of Samurai Jack.

Also included: Akutown, A babbling pig sheriff, what separates Samurai Jack from Dragon Ball Z.

Samurai Jack Part 2, which will cover the second season of the show, will release on November 21st


E75 – Yu Yu Hakusho Part 1



Sometimes the one good deed you do in your life gets you killed.

For Yusuke Urameshi, death is just the beginning of a fantastical journey that will eventually return him to earth with cool powers. Meanwhile, Michael takes issue with some problematic jokes, Peter appreciates the impact of the violence, and both hosts agree that Kuwabara is the best character.

Also included: a new product that takes all the guesswork out of soul-stealing, an over-involved demon backstory, the world Kuwabara lives in.

E70 – Mobile Suit Gundam Part 1



Only Gundam can save us!

White Base, a ship full of orphans and refugees, begins its journey to Federation headquarters at Jaburo, fighting off vicious attacks by the Zeon forces. Meanwhile, Michael admits his bias in favor of Gundam, Peter questions how landmarks like the Grand Canyon ended up with slightly different names, and both hosts reveal that they have partly-assembled Gundam model kits on their desks.

Yeah, we’re dorks.

Also included: Tomino hates episode 15, Ramba Ral: very old man, and corporal punishment

Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2 will release on August 1st


E64 – Beast Wars Part 1



The Beast Wars begin, and it doesn’t look pretty.

This week, Michael and Peter begin their four-part journey through the history of the Beast Wars. Meanwhile, Michael disputes the logic of making the hero characters mammals, Peter compares robot forms to taxidermy projects, and both hosts repeatedly quote Megatron’s verbal tic. Yes…

Also included: The Mainframe Effect, maintenance on the Absolution, animals holding advanced technology.

E61 – Tenchi in Tokyo Part 1



We’re back to Tenchi, but Tenchi’s trying to get away from everyone.

This week, Tenchi meets a new girl who immediately falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Michael recalls a specific episode from his childhood, Peter tries to describe an indescribable villain design, and both hosts wonder if Sakuya even exists outside of Tenchi’s eyeline.

Also included: the Platonic Ideal of cuteness, weirdness of “Harem” as a genre description, Ai Tenchi Muyo!: worth it or not?

Aliens steal energy from people to feed their tree. Sailor Scouts, stop this madness!
