E116 – Batman Beyond Part 2

Terry’s High School friends certainly seem to have a lot of Batman-sized problems.

Our new Batman finds another ally. Hopefully this one will be a little easier to deal with than Bruce Wayne. Meanwhile, Michael is annyed with the shift in focus to High School, Peter observes that he likes psychic episodes, and both hosts try to figure out who the “boring one” is, regarding presidents.

Also included: a stinging absence, Peter explains why he’s always hesitant to return to Batman, stanning Mad Stan.

Batman Beyond Part 3 will release May 6

E115 – Batman Beyond Part 1

A teenage Batman? Surely you can’t be serious…

A new Batman is born from the murder of a loved one, though this time he has an older batman to mentor him. Meanwhile, Michael pontificates about a fandom issue that may only exist in his head, Peter praises the cyberpunk setting, and both hosts stan for Inque (am I using that phrase correctly?).

Also included: the problem with Destroyer Droids, Bruce’s potential psychological problems, parallels to AKIRA.

Batman Beyond Part 2 will release April 22

E114 – He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Part 2

He-Man: The Franchising Has Begun.

Some Eternian mythology is established, and a bunch of new characters are introduced. Meanwhile, Michael articulates his problem with the name “Buzz-Off,” Peter tires of Skeletor’s minions, and both hosts appreciate some Starscream-sounding villains.

Also included: the strange case of Stinkor, a very brief appearance of Hordak, a strange concept for a training montage.

Batman Beyond Part 1 will release April 8

E113 – He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

This isn’t your daddy’s He-Man.

A screechy-voiced, ripped purple man with a skull for a face fights an equally ripped. loincloth-wearing man with a magic sword. Meanwhile, Michael appreciates Skeletor’s voice, Peter comments on He-Man’s willingness to kick things up a notch, and both hosts attempt to describe the extremely toyetic nature of the character design.

Also included: pointlessly transforming weapons, a theory on how an episode’s plotline was created by kittens, the odd connection between this show and The Secret of NIMH.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Part 2 will release March 25

NOTE: we incorrectly refer to episode 10 as “Dragon’s Blood”. The actual title is “Dragon’s Brood”.

E112 – Hamtaro Grab Bag

As action-packed as an easy-bake oven.

Hamsters call themselves Ham-Hams, sing, and go on incredibly mundane adventures. What’s not to love? Well, everything. Meanwhile, Michael remembers having a Hamtaro manga, Peter is dumbfounded by the fact that this show even broadcast on Toonami, and both hosts struggle to make distinctions between favorite and least favorite episodes.

Also included: an evil crow shows us what the show could have been, the love triangles of hamsters, magic clocks.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe will release March 11

MS55 – One-Punch Man

E111 – Dragon Ball Z Part 17

In which Cell learns Instant Transmission through osmosis.

The Cell Games reach their finale (well, if you can still call them the Cell Games), as Gohan ascends beyond the power of even a Super Saiyan. Meanwhile, Michael voices some frustration with the naming conventions of Dragon Ball Z arcs, Peter enjoys an episode-long beam struggle, and both hosts try to separate the Cell Games Saga from the rest of the arc.

Also included: disbelief at Vegeta’s claim that he’ll never fight again, Cell’s extended vomiting scene, a rare reference to mascot characters of a non-Burger King fast food restaurant.

Hamtaro Grab Bag will release on February 26th

E110 – Dragon Ball Z Part 16

Has Goku LOST HIS MIND!? Why sending Gohan in to fight Cell was the WORST decision in Dragon Ball Z!

The Cell Games begin, but not before Mr. Satan and his bootlickers get to show off how useless they are. Meanwhile, Michael appreciates the father/son dynamics between Goku and Gohan, Peter quickly loses patience for Mr. Satan’s nonsense, and both hosts are surprised at the quality of the last episode of the block.

Also included: Another argument for Hercule Satan actually being quite strong for a normal person, robo-gore, and Peter’s superhero origin story.

Dragon Ball Z Part 17 will release February 12th

MS53 – Super Dragon Ball Heroes Revisited

As though you compressed Dragon Ball Z into a neutron star of fighting.

E109 – Dragon Ball Z Part 15

What, Perfect Cell is so shrimpy compared to Semi-Perfect Cell! He must be a total weakling!

Cell completes his transformation, and becomes something of a showman. Meanwhile, Michael realizes the weird origin of one of his early D&D characters, Peter cracks up at a particular shot of Krillin, and both hosts acknowledge that Cell is probably a better villain than Frieza.

Also included: DBZ weather patterns, a Krillin’s Krillin, the use for the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Kami DOESN’T want you to know about.

Dragon Ball Z Part 16 will release January 29th
