E67 – Beast Wars Conclusion



The Beast Wars reach their apex as relics from the past are recovered and old friends make their return…

Meanwhile, Michael compares season 3 of Beast Wars to the final season of Mad Men, Peter is disappointed by the season premiere, and both hosts attempt to describe Optimal Optimus’s appearance.

E66 – Beast Wars Part 3



When Optimus is away, the Preds will play.

Season 2 of Beast Wars starts off crazy and continues ramping up from there. Meanwhile, Michael apologizes for mispronouncing a series title, Peter appreciates a new characters dual-wielded weapons, and both hosts are at a loss to determine where the show is going from here.

Also included: media that made us cry, an all Scott McNeil buddy cop movie, robot flirting.

Beast Wars Part 4, covering the third and final season, will release on June 6.


E65 – Beast Wars Part 2



Optimus?! OPTIMUUUUSSSS!!!

As season one of Beast Wars draws to a close, things start to get crazy. Meanwhile, Michael compares the first season to first seasons of Star Trek, Peter questions Megatron’s method of dealing with open rebellion, and both hosts look forward to the future of the Beast Wars.

E62 – Tenchi in Tokyo Conclusion



When Tenchi finally tells everyone to get lost, they… do. Alright, we didn’t see that coming.

Ryoko reclaims her title of space pirate, Kiyone and Mihoshi rise through the ranks of the Galaxy Police, and Ayeka traps Nobuyuki outside his own house. Meanwhile, Michael attempts to explain Tenchi in Tokyo as a deconstruction of “harem” anime tropes, Peter is displeased by the design of Tenchi’s new sword, and both hosts appreciate the primary villain.

Also included: brainstorming new names for the “harem” genre, changing the topic by shouting “party!”, preferred wacky portions.

E61 – Tenchi in Tokyo Part 1



We’re back to Tenchi, but Tenchi’s trying to get away from everyone.

This week, Tenchi meets a new girl who immediately falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Michael recalls a specific episode from his childhood, Peter tries to describe an indescribable villain design, and both hosts wonder if Sakuya even exists outside of Tenchi’s eyeline.

Also included: the Platonic Ideal of cuteness, weirdness of “Harem” as a genre description, Ai Tenchi Muyo!: worth it or not?

E59 – Sailor Moon R Conclusion

Time travel, internecine villain struggles, and heroes-turned-bad set “The Lost Episodes” apart from the rest of Sailor Moon R, but maybe not far enough apart. Meanwhile, Michael signs Wiseman’s praises, Peter appreciates another animal-focused episode, and both hosts share a laugh about New Year’s Evil.

Also included: The Ultimate Life Form, Serena’s driver’s ed, and badass future Rini.

Yep, life is tough for a Sailor Scout, and things only get tougher. Meanwhile, Michael absurdly compares Sailor Moon villains to those from Zeta Gundam, Peter reveals a strange choice of introduction for a new character, and both hosts try to determine what Darien’s problem is.

Also included: Zeta Gundam naming conventions, a disturbing lack of Melvin, and the craziest monster-of-the-week death of all time.
